pH control along
with an appropriate corrosion inhibitor
are used to control corrosion, neutralize
hazardous acid gases and prevent scale
in drilling fluids. Common corrosion inhibitors
are amine- or phosphate-based products,
as well as other specially formulated
chemicals.
Bactericide and
Algaecides are used to prevent bacterial
degradation of natural organic additives.
